Day 1 of the Bible in a year - My Thoughts 01/01/2010
![]() Day 1 down. 364 to go. So the scriptures for my Read the Bible in a Year plan today were Genesis 1:1 - 2:25; Matthew 1:1 - 2:12; Psalms 1:1-6; Proverbs 1:1-6. Here are some of my thoughts. In Genesis 1, the Holy Spirit moved upon a formless void world to create something wonderful. God can do the same with each of us. In fact, only God can make us something wonderful. In Genesis 2, God puts mankind in charge of nature. We are not meant to be one with nature. We are meant to be one with God, and nature is meant to be ruled by man. No this does not give man license to mean wastefully abuse nature, but it does mean that it is OK to use nature for our benefit. God created us in His image, not in the image of nature. So we are not one with nature. We are distinctly unique and better than any thing in nature. We are God’s agents on the earth. No other creature or thing can make this claim. It is a privilege, but also a responsibility. I’ll blog more about this later. Now for some of my thoughts on what I read in Genesis. Add Comment | Robert Taylor I've been with SLW since late 1999, and I've been through my spiritual ups and downs. Come see. On this blog I'll just share my thoughts on some issues from time to time, trying not to ramble too much and to make it worth your read all at the same time. Wish me luck.
