My thoughts from today’s reading: 1. THE BIBLE AND STD’S 2. INDIANA JONES HAD IT WRONG – God is in you, not a gold box 3. WHAT REALLY MATTERS IS WHAT’S IN YOUR HEART – PART 1 4. POOR AND NEEDY? Talk to God 5. I PITY THE FOOL! – Mr. T had it right 1. THE BIBLE AND STD’S Just in case you still haven’t figured out yet, there’s nothing new under the sun, and that the bible covers almost every issue you can imagine. From murder to rape to prostitution to adultery to intoxication to drugs to robbery to murder…you name it, it’s in there. Even STD’s. That’s right. It’s a problem today and it was a problem thousands of years ago. Nowadays, we can wash our hands whenever we want, and we have medications to clear up things that soap cannot. But even today, if you get that burning sensation, that leakage or that weird rash “down there”, you’ve got some problems. Add Comment Day 39 of the Bible in a Year - My Thoughts 02/08/2010

First, congrats to all the Saints and all their fans for winning Superbowl 010. Now for day 39. 1. SOMETIMES GOD JUST CALLS YOUR NUMBER, SO BE READY 2. JESUS ON THE POOR AND MONEY: A LESSON IN WORSHIP 1. SOMETIMES GOD JUST CALLS YOUR NUMBER, SO BE READY In Exodus 28, God spends an entire chapter doing nothing more than laying out the details for Aaron’s priestly garments. Ok, for all nit-pickers out there, I know the bible was not originally broken down into chapters, but for the sake of this post, bare with me. So for this entire chapters, God lays out in intricate detail what type of clothes Aaron the priest would wear. And man, Lady Gaga doesn’t have nothing on Aaron. This guy’s wardrobe was made of the finest materials, complete with gold trimmings and rubies and precious gyms and engraved stones. It was something serious. Just read the chapter to see what I’m saying. Day 33 of the Bible in a Year - My Thoughts 02/02/2010

BEWARE OF PROSTITUTES & DEADLY HOUSEWIVES 1. SOMETIMES, WE FORGET HOW GOOD WE HAVE IT In Exodus, from today’s readings, God has miraculously provided water and food for the Israelites while they travel on foot through the wilderness. By the time we get to Chapters 15 through 17:7 of Exodus, the Israelites have been constantly griping and complaining. First, they gripe about what they don’t have. Then God provides, and before long, they’re complaining bout that, Day 10 of the Bible in a Year - My Thoughts 01/10/2010

OLDIE BUT GOODIE 2. STRANGERS FOR LIFE 3. ABRAHAM'S FINANCIAL ADVISOR 4. FINDING MR. OR MRS. RIGHT 1. OLDIE BUT GOODIE Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (KJV) 2. STRANGERS FOR LIFE In Genesis 23, Sarah, Abraham’s wife, dies at 127. After all this time of living in this land, Abraham still considers himself a “stranger in a foreign land” (CEV). However, to the people of this land, he was considered “an honored prince among us.” It seems that although Abraham had earned a place of respect and acceptance among these people, he refused to completely assimilate into this culture. Perhaps it was because | Robert Taylor I've been with SLW since late 1999, and I've been through my spiritual ups and downs. Come see.
