My First Blog Retraction 01/07/2010
OK so everyone who knows me knows that I’m not the quickest person to admit when I’m wrong. In fact, people usually don’t think their position on an issue is wrong, or they wouldn’t have the position in the first place. I tend to hold my ground and find other logical explanations for something other than I’m wrong, or I made a mistake. I will usually eventually get there, but I’m no knee-jerk apologizer. So here we go...
2 Comments Day 3 of the Bible in a Year - My Thoughts 01/04/2010
![]() Day 3 down, 362 to go. My readings today were Genesis 5:1 – 7:24; Matthew 3:7 – 4:11; Psalms 3:1-8; Proverbs 1:10-19. Here are some of my thoughts. STRAIGHT JACKIN' Proverbs 1:10-19 – Nothing is new under the sun. Folks been jackin’ since bible times. But even back then crime didn’t pay. Check it out… DON'T BE THIS DUDE - A SHINING EXAMPLE OF A DYSFUNCTIONAL GUY. Genesis 5:29 – Lamech is listed as the father of Noah. Yes Noah from Noah’s ark, and yes Lamech the bragging murderer from Gen 3 mentioned in yesterday’s blog. In this case I guess the apple fell VERY far from the tree. Lamech names his son Noah, saying, “He will bring us relief from the painful labor of farming this ground the Lord has cursed” (CEV). Lamech seemed to have a grudge against God, and on top of that, he seemed to think his son was going to beat God at his own game or at least get him to take back his promise. Of course we know this doesn’t happen. Lamech dies at age 777, just about 5 years before the flood came, if you do the math. And Noah doesn’t free anyone from the curse of work God placed on man.
