![]() 54 days down, 311 to go. Today’s scriptures for my Read the Bible in a Year plan are Leviticus 14:1-57; Mark 6:30-56; Psalms 40:1-10; Proverbs 10:11-12. My thoughts from today’s reading: 1. THE EVASIVE BALANCE OF WORKING AND WAITING 2. OBEDIENCE IS TRUE SACRIFICE 3. JESUS FEEDS 5,000 4. YOU GOT THAT MOLD? 1. THE EVASIVE BALANCE OF WORKING AND WAITING Psalm 40:1-2 1 I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. Part of obeying God, as discussed in number 1 above, waiting on His guidance and leading. This doesn’t mean that you sit on your butt and don’t do anything until a voice from heaven booms into your bedroom and tells you to go west with a brail version of the King James Bible. (Although, if this does happen, you better do it. Just ask Eli.) God has a purpose for each of us, something significant He has for us to do with our time on this earth. However, not only does He have a purpose for us, He also has a timeline. ![]() 19 days down, 346 to go. Today’s scriptures for my Read the Bible in a Year plan are Genesis 39:1 – 41:16; Matthew 12:46 – 13:23; Psalms 17:1-15; Proverbs 3:33-35. Here are my thoughts on today’s readings. Hope you find them interesting…or at least tolerable. 1. CHECK TO SEE IF YOU ARE RELATED TO JESUS 2. NO ATHEISTS IN FOXHOLES, BUT THERE ARE POETS 3. YOUR HEART GETS A GRADE, BUT NOT A, B, C, D OR F 4. JOSEPH TURNS THE TIDE – REFUSING SEXUAL SIN & GIVING GOD HIS DUE 1. CHECK TO SEE IF YOU ARE RELATED TO JESUS Some people are really into genealogy. They research their family tree back generations, back to different countries even. Now I’m not sure what’s the farthest back anyone has traced their ancestry. I’m sure it could be looked up, but aside from the fictional Di Vinci Code account, I wonder if anyone has gone back 2,000 years to find they’re actually related to Jesus Christ. | Robert Taylor I've been with SLW since late 1999, and I've been through my spiritual ups and downs. Come see. On this blog I'll just share my thoughts on some issues from time to time, trying not to ramble too much and to make it worth your read all at the same time. Wish me luck.
