One of the most significant and most neglected mission fields on the face of the planet is right here in America - the Hip Hop culture and those influenced by it. Birthed right here in the U.S., Hip Hop culture has spread throughout the world to become one of the most influential forces on the planet. It affects millions of people and billions of dollars in industry, yet it has never been officially identified by the Church as a mission field...until now.          

From our home base in Houston, TX, Street Life Worldwide Evangelistic Association is planting churches and training missionaries, pastors and Christian media producers throughout America to reach the Hip Hop culture throughout the world for Jesus Christ. Upon completing a one year training program, missionaries are sent to other cities, states and countries to duplicate our missional efforts. This package will familiarize with our process to reach the mission field of the Hip Hop culture.

The Secular Urban Culture and the Hip Hop Generation

Who Are They?

Age group: Late teens to adults in their 30’s.

They are of all racial backgrounds, but most of those whom we
ministerto are African-American and Hispanic.

This younger urban people group is not generally reached through traditional
church services, outreaches or tract-based evangelism.

They have grown up in inner city and urban environments.

They have grown up influenced by Hip Hop culture and the values it promotes,
and while not all of these values are bad, some are, such as:
      - Materialsim & fast money
      - Sexual promiscuity
      - Striving for fame / vanity
      - Violence

Many have a below average literacy rate.

They are highly influenced by the media, idolizing their favorite rappers and movies, modeling their lives after the lifestyles portrayed by their favorite rappers and in the movies they watch.

Messages must be brought to them in a culturally relevant way,
or they will not likely embrace the message.
